This book long account of over 200 pages by Victor Chan who followed the Dalai Lama around to a period of time talking to him and attending his meeting swith practitioners and his public teachings and basically recorded it all and then produced this book.

I can't really think of a book that describes the personal behavior and teachings of the Dailai Lama.
