The Bon tradition of  Buddhism was then national religion of Tibet before the 700s when Buddhism was introduced by King Tesong Detsun. When Buddhism was established in Tibet it took many different aspects of the Bon religion and often attributed these teachings and practices to India when they were native to Tibet.

The Chod Practice is a powereful method for cutting one's attachment to outer phenomena, espicailly the obsession with being a separate and  important self that we almost all cherish.

This book describes the  Chod practice from the Bon tradition, "Laughter of the Skygoers", composed by the great Bonpo master Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen, who took the body of light in 1934.
