Among the Peaceful Deities in the Bardo are the buddhas of the five Buddha families. 

Each buddha is surrounded by four attendants pictures here in each of the four directions. They are depicted in union in the YabYung position. This should not be taken to be sexual, but as symbolically showing that these two buddhas are in the same family and complement as being the masucline and faminine aspect of the buddha.

Depicted on this picture is Amitabha of the Padma family who is red in color and represents the purity of the aggregate of perception which frees us from attachment. He is accompanied by Pandaravasini who is also red.

The other four Peaceful buddhas are:

Akshobhya of the Vajra family who is blue and represents mirror-like wisdom and the natural purity of the aggregate of form He is accompanied by Buddhalocana who is also blue and represents natural purity of the element earth.

Vairocana of the Buddha family who is white who represent the natural purity of consciousness that overcomes delusion (ignorance?). He is accompanied by Akashadhatvaisvari who is also white and represents the element of space.

Amitabha of the Padma family who is red in color and represents the purity of the aggregate of perception which frees us from attachment. He is accompanied by Pandaravasini who also red and who represent the purity of the element of fire.

Amoghasiddhi who is of the karma family and is green in color. he represent wisdom of accomplishment which overcomes the disturbing emotion of envy. He is accompanied by Samayatra who is also green and represent the purity of the element of wind.

This Buddha is yellow the color of yellow and is Ratnasambhava of the Ratna family. Ratnasambhava represents the purity of the the aggregate of feeling which is free from the disturbing emotions pride. He is accompanied by Mamaki who is a light orange in color and represent the purity of the element of water.
