Saraha is credited with being one of the first practitioners of Mahamudra meditation. He probably lived in the 8th century in India. He had a wife who was an arrow-maker (Skt. saraha) who actually first taught him Mahamudra.
He wrote three spiritual songs (dohas) on Mahamudra and Thrangu Rinpoche has given commentaries on all three. This particular doha is different from The Peoples, Queen's and Kings doha and is found in the Treasury of Songs (Dohas) on Mahamudra by great Mahasiddhas in India. This song is one of the treasuries and is by Saraha.
This commentary of seven teachings was given by Rinpoche in Boudha, Nepal, in 2008 and translated by David Choehel.
The King's Doha of Saraha entitled Song for the King is a book by Thrangu Rinpoche and available from this website.
There are seven (one and a half hour) talks with Thrangu Rinpoche with the English translation. These particular teachings have not yet been published in book form.
These teachings are in an MP3 format which can be played on most devices--CD player, Computer, Tablet, Phone. The entire set of teachings can be downloaded for just $ 2.00.
