Namo Buddha Publications will be publishing these teachings as a book next year. Until now the very best way to "be there" at the teachings is to purchase the DVD.
Mahamudra: Eliminating the Darkness of Ignorance is a text by the Ninth Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje, presenting a complete teaching on the practice of Mahamudra. Based on this text Thrangu Rinpoche provides profound and accessible teachings on Mahamudra practice beginning with the uncommon and common preliminaries as well as the four extraordinary preliminaries specific to Mahamudra practice (causal condition, dominant condition, focal condition, and immediate condition).
Rinpoche then teaches Mahamudra practices of Tranquility (Shamatha) including the posture of body and mind, Tranquility meditation resting on each of the five sense objects, eliminating dullness and agitation, and unsupported meditation. Rinpoche continues by teaching Mahamudra practices of Insight (Vipashyana), including looking at and recognizing the mind at rest, tand in motion, appearances and mind, and the difference between or similarities of moving and resting mind.
These talks conclude with discussing eliminating obstacles and enhancing these practices. Translated by David Karma Choephel. This set of 14 talks and the DVD may be forwarded by one click.
