Kagyu Lineage Prayer (with guidance)

Thrangu Rinpoche says The Kagyu Lineage Prayer (Tib. Dorje Chang Tungma) every single time that he gives a teaching. He does this because this prayer has immense blessings and that it outlines the whole Mahamudra path in less than a dozen verses.

Namo Buddha Publications has collected several of Thrangu Rinpoche’s teachings in which he used the Kagyu Lineage Prayer to teach Mahamudra meditation in one book published by Shambhala Publications called The Mahamudra Lineage Prayer: A guide to Practice.

This Kagyu Lineage Prayer (with guidance) gives the prayer in Tibetan script, then with the transliteration and the English. Then across from each line is Guidance which gives the Visualization for the practice, an explanation of the meditation for each of the verses: the creation phase, the four common preliminaries, the four special preliminaries, Shamatha meditation, and the Vipshyana meditation, and the final aspirational prayer by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo.

In Addition this 13 page PDF has a picture of Dusum Khyenpa, the first Karmapa who one visualizes over one’s head, a colored Kagyu Lineage tree with labels of each person on the tree, a brief biography of each person, the four greater and eight lesser lineages, the short and Lineage tree to make visualization much easier, and finally a short exposition by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche on the Meaning of Vajradhara.
