The Manjushri Prayer is every day by the participants in the shedra when they begin studying the Sutras and other texts. Manjushri is the deity most closely associated with wisdom. He hold a sword in his right hand to cut the confusion of thought and the Prajnaparamita, the famous sutra explaining emptiness. He is golden in color and rests on a lotus flower, a yellow sun disk and a white moon disk. Above him is the red Amitabha Buddha.
The Manjushri Prayer with Guidance in 17 pages gives the Tibetan script, the transliteration, and English on the left. On the right is a commentary giving the visualization and an explanation of the lines. In addition, presented is the interesting story of Manjushri and a line by line commentary by Lama Phuntsok who is the lama at Thrangu Rinpoche’s Center in Heidelberg, Germany.
Finally, there is a very complete visualization practice that can be done that is fully explained.
A photograph of Manjushri in much higher quality that the cover of this practice book is available in the Downloadable Photos and the Printed Photos section of this website.
