Tangtong Gyalpo is famous for not only being great practitioner who originated the Chenrezig practice, but also the first person respoonsible for Building metal bridges across the the steep ravines in Tibet thus saving the people days and safety in their travels.

Many Tibetan homes have a picture of Tangtong Gyalpo in their houses and Thrangu Rinoche has also given teachings by Tong Tong Gyalpo.
