The 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche is one of the outstanding teachers of the Kagyu Lineage and is head of Palpung Sherabling. The Tai Situ lineage goes back in an unbroken lineage for twelve generations. Tai Situ teaches in fluent English and also is a calligrapher, author, and geomancer.

The Treasury of Knowledge written by Jamgon Kongtrul, the great, who was famous for collecting a vast number of Tibetan works which were being lost and writing about these works and helping develop the reme movement. He also wrote a massivefive volume encyclopedia of Buddhist knowledge which has been translated into English and published by Snow Lion in to books each being about 500 page long.

The Ninth Situ Rinpoche worked with Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye on this renaissance movement. In 1996 the present Tai Situpa began a transmission and empowerment of these five great treasures. At these empowerments were many Rinpoches a ordained sangha and also thousands of devotes from around the World. His teachings were recorded and made into five books one for each of the volumes of the Treasury of Knowledge.

The Third Volume of the Treasury of Knowledge is where Tai Situpa discusses the practices of the eight different practice lineages: the Sakya, the Kadampa, the Marpa Kagyu lineage (including each of the four major sub-lineages), the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage, the Zhijed Lineage, the Jordrung Lineage, the Dorje Nyendrub lineages and the Nyingma lineage. This book is 220 pages long and includes extensive notes and an index.
