Pema Chödrön is one of the three best selling Buddhist teachers. She has the amazing ability to take problems and concerns that we ordinary people all have and to show us how to get through this using the wisdom of Buddhism.

The full title of this book is Welcoming the Unwelcome: Wholehearted Living in a Brokenhearted World. The book is dedicated to Thrangu Rinpoche and Pema Chodron has attended a number of Thrangu Rinpoche's week-long teachings.

This book has a wide-ranging set of ideas cenered around how we should live in this rather confusing world. It has several chapters on how to deal with failure and overcome it by not rejecting it, How to pratice open awareness using our shared humanity and not polarizing the situation and incorrectly labeling the situation. She describes how to life of "birth and death in every moment" and "Imagine life without Ego" and this will change the world.

 

Welcoming the Unwelcome by Pema Chodron is dedicated to Thrangu Rinpoche. This is an exact copy of Pema's 144 page book.

Pema begins by dealing with a broken heart and how this relates to bodhichitta (enlightened mind). She then connects this will patterns of interconnectedness of our life and its dual nature that involves winning and loosing.

The rest of this book is about how we deal with these connections and gradually grow both emotionally and intellectually into a much happier life. The book also includes chapters on the techniques of basic sitting meditation, the Sending and Receiving practice and L.E.S.R.
