Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) was considered a second Buddha in Tibet because he brought Buddhism from India to Tibet and established its first lineage--the Nyingma lineage.
In this picture he is depicted in his usual costume with his staff with three heads holding a Vajra in this right hand in the dispelling of obstacles mudra and a skull cup filled with long life amrita in his left.
Below at his right is Pincess Madarava that he married in India and brought to Tibet and Yeshe Tsogyal one of his closest Tibetan students who actually credited with being the first Tibetan to have reached Enlightenment.
This picture of Guru Rinpoche is depicted as being fairly angry because he was able to subdue many demons in Tibet and made way for Tibet to become a Buddhist country.
