This is Thrangu Rinpoche's book on the three vehicles (the Foundation, the Mahayana, and the Vajrayana). All Buddhist practice involves the basic ideas from each of these vehicles.

The first vehicle involving a careful of the Buddha's actual words including the careful examination of the self and the famous Four Noble Truths. The practice of this vehicle is basic Tranquility and Insight meditation. 

The second vehicle is the Mahayana path involving the understanding of the emptiness of phenomena and understanding the difference between relative and ultimate reality. The practice of the Mahayana is embarking upon the bodhisattva path which is engendering great compassion and practicing the six perfections.

Finally, Thrangu Rinpoche, explains the third vehicle of the Vajrayana, which involves doing deity practices such as Chenrezig or Guanyin and the important practice looking directly at mind called Mahamudra."

This book of 133 pages  contains 3 original calligraphies of Thrangu Rinpoche, extensive notes, a glossary, a glossary of Tibetan terms, a bibliography, and an index.
