The Very Venerable Kalu Rinpoche a beloved world-wide for his gentle, sincere, and straightforward way of presenting the Buddhist teachings, the Very Venerable Kalu Rinpoche is universally revered as one of the greatest Tibetan yogis of the century. Spending over 30 years meditating in hermitages and caves in the Himalayas, he achieved a profound level of realization and has often been compared to the great Buddhist saint, Milarepa.

This book whose full title is The Dharma That Illuminates All Beings is a set of some of his clear and interesting teachings for beginning students and covers The Four Noble Truths and the Four Dharmas of Gampopa. He then gives an overview of the bardo (the period between dying and rebirth), and the meaning of the mandala. Then he presents the meaning of vows for lay persons and the ordained in a modern context. there is a chapter on "women, Siddhi (the powers obtained with practice) and Dharma." Finally Kalu Rinpoche gives a teaching on the main meditation practice of the Kagyu lineage which is Mahamudra.
